Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) Certificate


The CALL Certificate consists of 12 credits of coursework, generally taken concurrently with either the MATESOL or MATFL degree.  

Teaching professionals with an equivalent of an MATESOL or MATFL degree are also encouraged to enroll in the CALL Certificate program. The Certificate can be completed in one Fall / Spring academic year. Online courses are also offered.

The CALL Certificate coursework consists of the following required classes:

  • CALL Pedagogy (2 credits)
  • CALL & Curriculum Integration (2 credits)
  • Computer-Assisted Assessment (2 credits)
  • CALL Skills and Troubleshooting (2 credits)
The remaining five credits of coursework required for the Certificate can be fulfilled through a variety of elective offerings, such as:
  • Teaching Writing Online
  • Using the Internet for Language Teaching
  • Online and Distance Education
  • Corpus, Concordance, and CALL
  • Introduction to Digital Media
  • Web Design for Language Teaching
