Examines various philosophies and models of pre-service and in-service programs for training language teachers, thus building professional skills for students to be competent and confident teacher educators.
Language Teacher Supervision Provides language teachers with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the challenges of supervision. Examines current models of, and research on, language teacher supervision. Students practice observing teachers and conducting post-observation conferences, developing their ability to provide professional feedback, differentiate between evaluative and developmental supervision, and examine the variables related to working with teachers in a variety of specific contexts.
Public Budgeting Introduction to public and private nonprofit budgeting processes and budget design format. Practice in the computer lab on spreadsheet budget design is an important aspect of the course. A research paper on a budgeting process in government or the nonprofit section is required.
Finance for non-Financial Management This course is designed to introduce the main concepts of finance and financial terminology. The couse is ideal for non-business practitioners that need to understand financial concepts, but will not be running daily financial functions of a firm.
