The LPA certificate consists of 17 credits of coursework in addition to the MATESOL or MATFL degree. LPA coursework is typically taken during students' second, third, and fourth semesters of their degree program.
Should professionals with a degree equivalent to the MATESOL or MATFL want to add the LPA Certificate to their professional qualifications, they are encouraged to do so. The Certificate can be completed within one academic year of part-time study.
The LPA coursework consists of the following courses:
- Introduction to LPA (2 credits)
- Language Teacher Supervision (2 credits)
- Language Teacher Education (2 credits)
- Survey of Accounting (3 units) or Gov't and Non-Profit Accounting (3 credits)
- Marketing Management (3 credits)
- Public Budgeting (4 credits)
- Elective (1 credit)
